There's some slight hiccups as there's mp4 to mpeg conversion in the background...
olvwm of course. It runs on Debian 11 but .Xsession doesn't work...
Debian 11 won!
Takes a while to get familiar with. There's a path to the tutorial in man page (/usr/pkg/share/sc/tutorial.sc)
This is probably the only page that looks "well-organised", the least "squashy", on lynx.
Now I can browse the spider sites on Mosaic while downloading sauepan films from ljs2
What we need now is the ability to post on lambda from terminal + captcha support.
P.S. me monitor couldn't go any higher than 800x600.
Also, 800x600 makes text looks tiny
I have finally got the apps menu working on CTWM
some minor differences
Motif / dtwm
"Mosaic" f.exec /usr/bin/mosaic
CTWM
"Mosaic" !"/usr/bin/Mosaic"
I love tor
Oh dear, I love how fast and responsive my system is now. Here is my list of abandonwares that aren't resource-demanding and can still be installed on modern linux (as of 2021):
tkdesk - File manager
xterm - terminal
WordPerfect 8.1
NCSA Mosaic - Web Browser (limited text formattings, but can display images / download files from lambda 2). Doesn't take up too much memory
Netscape 4.8 UNIX - pretty much like NS3 but with wonky, limited stylesheet (CSS) engine, resolves .torify.net domain.
Netscape 6 UNIX - (obsolete) refuses to resolve .torify.net address (like Pale Moon, SeaMonkey). I put it here because it is not impossible to get it to work on Debian 11. NS6 + Wine is more usable but slightly more bloated.
xfig - Drawing software
If you have any software suggestions, drop in the replies section below. So I can try them out.
